Hellooo! I know I have to post pictures from Jamaica, I haven't gotten around to it yet because of the three million graduation parties I have been going to...They will come eventually!
Anyway, my husband and myself are starting a 12 week challenge today. It is 12 weeks of eating 6 times a day small meals and exercising 6 days a week. We read the book on vacation. It was really eye opening and encouraging. They had so many pictures of people who have succeeded and it was very real to read because they didn't all sit there and be like "In just 2 weeks I looked amazing!" They wrote about their struggles every week and what they did to overcome them. So we decided to do this challenge as a couple. So we entered and it goes until sometime in September. We are all set to go and we have to take our before pictures today. Not looking forward to that, but I do need a reality check as to where I am at. I am not overweight, I am however 20 pounds above where I would like to be. Even if I lost 15 pounds that would be fine. I honestly don't even care as much about the pounds as the inches. I'd rather look toned. So I will let you all know how this works and how we are doing. I'm excited to grow as a couple through this as well!!
Anyway, Jamaica was so much fun and a great time to reconnect with Josh. It had been an extremely rough few months (three years!). Now that I look back on them I'm not sure how we made it other than by the grace of God. For everyone who has kids, you know that they take a lot of work and energy and are TOTALLY worth it, but it does add a little bit of pressure sometimes. Well, Josh and I really only had 3 months married alone before Samuel came along and before that, I had been at college so those 3 months were really the longest time we had really seen each other every day all day, so that was interesting!! haha! So it seems that we have really turned a corner. We are learning finally how to work together instead of against each other. Josh and myself are two STUBBORN people. So that makes for an interesting relationship, but we really have changed in the past 2 months. Really it has been a process. We have to same goal at this point, to get to know God more, to love each other, and to love our son. We have finally realized that and we are going from there. Today we started the challenge with prayer. Samuel was still sleeping and we sat down and asked for strength for the challenge and also to strengthen our relationship. We decided to start our relationship with a clean slate. Anything in the past that was hurtful to our relationship is now gone and we are starting fresh. I am very excited to see what happens! This challenge is not only for our health, but for us as a family. So I am excited!!!!!
Oh ya, and here is something else that is exciting. I had asked Josh to read Wild at Heart last year. We were having a really tough time and I started reading Captivating (Still on chapter 6 after a year) and I thought that maybe we could read those books then swap to try to figure out what the heck to other person is thinking! haha. So he kept bucking me and kind of blowing the idea off. So two days ago he asked me to get him something out of his car and when I went it, what did I see? Wild at Heart and a little bookmark. He has started reading it!! This is a huge step for Josh and I felt really incredible to know that we are finally both on the same page and we are both interested in making this marriage amazing!! So Praise God! Here we go!!!
